The volume
Five films that measure a man against what he believes: not against what he obtains, not against how long he lives, not against the outcome of the battle he fights. They put a conviction in front of him and then hand him the bill, once and then again, dearer every time. Four pay in full. The fifth is here on purpose, as a control: he gets everything the others die for, the name, the income, the rank, and comes out exactly as he started.
